Troy Blackwell is the Founder and CEO of Ready for Change, a political action committee dedicated to get-out-the-vote activities and voter education. The PAC aims to make democracy more representative by increasing voter participation among youth at the local and state level.
Before launching Ready for Change, Blackwell was a New York City Council Candidate running to represent a Bronx district with almost 200,000 residents. Previously, Blackwell served as Director of Trips and Surrogates on the historic Biden-Harris campaign where he produced over 150 events. He has experience in the media and public relations industry including roles in the Obama-Biden White House, New York City Council, and at public relations agencies. As a champion for diversity, Blackwell has counseled nationally recognized organizations including Communications Workers of America, Color of Change, and SEIU.
Blackwell was the 2021 keynote speaker for the University of San Diego Broom Center in Public Relations, guest lectured at Harvard’s Institute of Politics, was recognized by CRAIN’S NY as a notable LGBTQ executive, and was honored as PRWeek's 2020 most purposeful person. He received his BA from the City College of New York (CUNY) and pursued his graduate education at Columbia University.
